Question 107
Dear Preschool
Teacher,
I need to make a prop box for one of my
college classes. I have decided on a fishing theme. The
more items that I have the better the grade. I have a sizable
list of fishing items but I am looking for more. I am hoping not
to skip any obvious ones and always ones that maybe aren't so obvious.
Thanks for your help,
Gone Fishing for props!
Dear Gone Fishing for props!,
This sounds like fun. You
will need a tackle box (or two), some lures, (without hooks) and
a net (not big enough to catch "other children"). Plastic or
paper fish perhaps with magnetic mouths,( you could make these
yourself with paper clips) and a fishing hat. I have seen
vests that hold supplies, and hip boots. You could probably
just use small adult size boots or large children's boots. And
of course no fishing expedition would
be complete without fishing poles! You could use real ones or
use sticks with string attached. But no hooks, please. You
might want to show a few hooks at circle time (in plastic boxes) and
explain how sharp they are. And a bucket to put the catch of the
day in!

Dear Gone Fishing for props!,
How about a child-sized fishing
pole, wading pool, fishing hats, worms, chair, tackle box or fishing
bag, stringer, fishing 'floats' or other tackle and bait items with no
hooks, boats, fishing license, plastic fish (party supply store?),
fishing game -- fish and paper clips and fishing pole with magnet,
fishing boots, tent for camping?, ice box or cooler for lunch or fish,
and picnic foods.
