6/10/01 Question 112

Dear Preschool Teacher,
I am looking for a noncompetitive game for a school project. Do you know of any?
Thanks,
Everybody Wins

Dear Everybody Wins,

There are a lot of noncompetitive games available.  It might depend on what your project was, what you might want to do is check Totline. They have a great book on no-lose group games, called 123 Games.
Doggie, Doggie, Where's Your Bone? is one game that kids can play and they love it.  You find an object to represent  the bone.  Choose a child to steal the bone from the doggie.  The doggie guesses who has it.
Hot and Cold is another easy classic.  I Spy is good too.  You can choose any subject to look for, such as colors, shapes and letters or numbers.  Have fun!

Dear Everybody Wins,

We play co-operative musical chairs.  As the game progresses, you take out chairs but not children.  If there is not enough chairs, the children must sit on the lap of another child.  Then by the end, you have the whole class on one chair.
