Dear Preschool Teacher,
I have been told my son is advanced, he is three. He knows his whole alphabet recognizes every letter big and small and write his name, count to 12, knows his birthday and home phone number. His preschool does not seem to do much to help him only games and play which I love, but I want to help
him keep his smarts. How can I work with him. How may I ask his preschool teacher if she can work on something like words or counting at least once a week?

7/6/01 Question 117/ Word For Word
Dear Preschool Teacher,
I am also a preschool teacher, I have a quick question for you. We were making feelings booklets, and I always write what the child says above picture even if it is bad, but the thing that happen was a child stated, "It makes me angry when Jeff hits me" (meaning the mothers boyfriend). I went ahead and wrote the statement down. Would you have?
Well that was 2 years ago and guess what? It is now being used in court in protecting this child. There has been other pictures as well that he has drawn with statements in which I have always wrote what the child has said word by word. Is that the right thing to do?

7/30/01 Question 120/ Concerned Mommy
Dear Preschool Teacher,
My three year old son has just started preschool.  This is his third week.  He is not adjusting well at all.  This is the first time he has been in a social situation being he was at his previous sitter from birth until now.  The teachers are stating he won't participate in activities, he just stands on the side and cries or whines.  He
constantly asks for me all day and he just isn't playing with the other children.  What can I do?? HELP!
